Growing up in Weston-super-Mare, I was always outdoors – collecting leaves, digging in the soil or just walking the dog. I didn’t realise at the time just how rich our landscape was.
After completing a degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare and returning to the area, the decline in local wildlife became evident. Just as I moved to Congresbury, a dragonfly appeared in my overgrown garden – proof that nature was still present. That moment inspired me to take responsibility for protecting and restoring the place I call home.
I believe that sharing knowledge is vital to securing a future for wildlife – after all, why would people want to protect something they don’t know about or understand?
