Yatton and Congresbury Wildlife Action Group (YACWAG) has unveiled a new information board at Yatton Junction, at the entrance to the Strawberry Line at Yatton station. YACWAG is a local nature conservation charity which has been working on the Strawberry Line between Yatton and Congresbury for over 20 years.  The group has also been looking after the Yatton Junction Reserve ever since its purchase from British Rail in 1998, raising funds for fencing and path surfacing as well as the ongoing management of areas for wildlife.

Thanks to funding for the sign from Bristol Airport and Yatton WI Strawberry Hearts, a new project has been initiated which will draw in other funding to enhance the nature reserve for both wildlife and people. The sign is mounted on old railway sleepers which were recovered from the site.

Pictured below:  Tony Moulin (YACWAG), Julie (whose father Malcolm Wathen took the historic railway photo used on the sign), Harry Ellis (Bristol Airport), Sue Saunders (Yatton WI) and Mark Stanford, the designer of the information board.
