This unexpected gift supported essential and increasing costs of running the charity. We have everyday expenses like insurance, first aid training, stationery and office equipment and replacing broken tools, fencing and gates.
To recognise Jim’s contribution, YACWAG installed a simple sleeper bench with a commemorative plaque along the Strawberry Line between Congresbury and Sandford, a route he particularly enjoyed walking. This provides a lasting acknowledgement of his role in YACWAG’s early development and of his generosity in supporting our work through his will. He was our first founding trustee to leave us and will not be forgotten; nor will his generosity in remembering us in his will.
