Description:
An Evening with local Naturalist and Broadcaster Chris Sperring MBE

As dusk falls across our moors and woodlands, the haunting calls of owls have grown quieter in recent years—a mystery local conservationist Chris Sperring MBE will explore in a special upcoming talk.

Drawing on decades of fieldwork across South-West and beyond, Chris will share the very latest findings on how our local owls are faring, from the secretive Long-eared Owl to the familiar Tawny and Barn Owls. He will show how efforts to protect these iconic birds benefit everything from Nightjars to wildflowers, supporting the rich web of life we share. He will also examine how increasingly extreme weather is reshaping breeding success, behaviour patterns and explore the future of our wildlife.

Chris will also discuss his new book Ghosts of The Night: The extraordinary lives of British Owls, revealing the hidden world of these elusive birds. Copies will be available to purchase on the night, with the chance to have your book signed by the author.
