Local Wildlife Responder for Advice

YACWAG’s volunteer, Amy, is an experienced wildlife rehabilitator and a volunteer at Secret World and may be able to help you in the first instance with advice and support. You can text Amy on 07919 323190 or leave a voice message. If Amy is not available she will get back to you as soon as possible. Amy lives locally and may be able to give you hands-on help.

If any wildlife you are concerned about requires emergency medical care please contact Secret World Rescue on 01278 783250. Based in Highbridge, Somerset. Open 8am to 8pm, 365 days a year.

Bats

Birds

If you find a baby bird on the ground it is unlikely to have been abandoned and you could do more harm than good by ‘rescuing’ it. Please follow the advice on the RSPB website here

Hedgehogs

If you find a Hedgehog out in the daytime or an injured or sick one at night please contact Prickles Hedgehog Rescue Centre in Cheddar, 07806 744 772. They will send someone to collect it from you, nurse it back to health and return it. Please also send in reports of your sightings via the contact form on this website.
